Origins Warhammer Independent Grand Tournament

Overview:
(1)    Warhammer 8th Edition rules will be used
a.       The BRB, official Errata, and official White Dwarf rules shall be honored
b.      Judge rulings shall be final, even if later found to be contradictory to an official rule source
(2)    Armies may be no greater than 2200 points
(3)    There shall be 4 rounds
(4)    Points shall be awarded for gameplay, sportsmanship, painting, hobbying, and army composition.
(5)    Army lists are due by May 15th for 5 bonus points, May 20th for 2 bonus points, May 25th for 1 bonus point. You are permitted one free edit to your list between May 15th and May 25th where you will not receive a penalty to this bonus
(6)    Costs for the tournament is $15, plus Origins admission. If you register with us prior to April 30th, cost will be $35 total, or $55 for the GT and the entire convention. After April 30th, standard Origins fees will apply.
(7)    You must supply 5 copies of your army list at registration. One for the judges, and one for each opponent. Army lists should be written/typed legibly. Standardzied formats are preferred.
(8)    The Origins GT is an OPEN LIST tournament.


Army Construction Rules:

(1)    Armies may be no greater than 2200 points
(2)    Any of the following army books will be permitted:

Beastmen (7th Edition)
Bretonnia (6th Edition)
Chaos Dwarves (Forgeworld)
Daemons of Chaos (7th Edition)
Dark Elves (7th Edition)
Dwarves (7th Edition)
Empire (7th/8th Edition)*
High Elves (7th Edition)
Lizardmen (7th Edition)
Orcs and Goblins (8th Edition)
Ogre Kingdoms  (8th Edition)
Skaven (7th Edition)
Tomb Kings (8th Edition)
Wood Elves (6th Edition)
Vampire Counts (8th Edition)
Warriors of Chaos (7th Edition)
*Due to the April release date of Empire, players will be permitted to use either the 7th edition or 8th edition army book. Your entire army must come from one or the other, and you may not deviate between books from game to game. Additionally, your army list must clearly state which version of the book you will be using.
(3) Armies must be composed as permitted in the BRB
(4) Named characters will be permitted
Any army not adhering to the following restrictions will still be permitted, however will receive a composition score penalty.
(9)    Your army should not have any single unit which costs over 500 points
(10)No unit in your army should have more than 50 models (not including joined characters)
(11)Your army should not have duplicate rare units with an individual value of over 100 points
(12)Your army should have at least 5 units (not counting characters)

Scoring:
                Points shall be awarded in the following categories:
(1)    Battle Points
(2)    Tactical Points
(3)    Painting/Hobbying Score
(4)    Sportsmanship Score
(5)    Composition Score
Battle Points:  up to 24 points shall be awarded in each of 4 games. The number of points scored will be based on the victory point differential of each game based on the following chart:  Battle points will go toward the following awards: Best Overall, Best General and will serve as the tie-breaker for Best Tactician
                               
Tactical Points: each game will have certain scenario goals and objectives that you are attempting to meet. Achieving these objectives award tactical points which go toward the following awards: Best Tactician and will serve as the tie-breaker for Best General.

Painting/Hobbying Score: Up to 40 points shall be awarded for painting, with an additional 25 points awarded for miscellaneous hobbying metrics, such as conversions, modeling, theme and appearance. These points will go toward Best Appearance.

Sportsmanship: After each game, each player will have their sportsmanship scored. Up to 10 points can be earned. Additionally, other things can influence your sportsmanship score, such as judge observation of your conduct at the table, and attitude toward judges/volunteers.

Composition Score: Each players army will receive up to 25 points for composition both from judge and player scores.
                                                                                               
Prizes:
The following prizes will be awarded.
(1)    Best Overall – highest overall score (battle point tiebreaker)
(2)    Best General – most battle points (composition tiebreaker)
(3)    Best Tactician – most tactical points (battle point tiebreaker)
(4)    Best Apperance – most painting/hobbying points (sportsmanship tiebreaker)
(5)    Sportsmanship Award – most sportsmanship points (composition tiebreaker)
(6)    Player’s Choice Award
(7)    Other awards as determined by TO

Schedule:

8:00 am – 8:30 am: Registration/Check In/Setup
8:30 am – 11:00 am: Round 1
11:00 am – 12:45 pm : Lunch Break/Paint Judging/Exhibit Hall
12:45 – 3:00: Round 2
3:00 – 5:30: Round 3
5:30 – 6:30: Dinner Break
6:45 – 9:00 Round 4
9:15: Awards

FAQ’s/Rules Interpretations:

(1)    True Line of Sight shall be used
(2)    Non-GW Models are permitted
(3)    Proxied models are fine
(4)    Any proxies should attempt to resemble what they represent. Deviations for theme may be permitted.
